The Herman Cain ad is great. Is he running for CEO of a tobacco company ? Wink

And this in a country that increasingly hates smoking.

Nonetheless, it has a sense of coolness together with the background music and Cain's smile.

Cain's ads are decent, but not as great as Gravel's.  Rather than 10 seconds being spent on Cain smiling at the end, it should have been at least 2 minutes.

I'm pretty sure that the 9-9-9 Fund is Cain's SuperPAC.

That smoking ad is HILARIOUS. It's obvious he's not really running for president and realizes the whole thing is a joke. I mean, come on...just listen to that song and watch Cain's goofy smile. I love it.

Cain's campaign is the Rocky IV of political campaigns, so it is fitting. However, I suspect Vince DiCola and Survivor do not approve of Cain (or his PAC or whatever) using their music:

I disagree. There's no question that Herman Cain, the politician, is a joke, but his candidacy (at least in Herman's head) is very serious. Watch his interviews. Listen to his speeches. The guy takes his positions on economic issues very seriously. He becomes visibly agitated when interviewers challenge his opinions. The other day he lashed out against Karl Rove for "deliberately" trying to "smear him."

He knows nothing about politics and thus lacks the common sense to run a serious campaign, but I think it's due more to naivety and ignorance than anything else.

I think it was Dave Weigel who said that when Cain wins Iowa, and he's giving his victory speech, he'll just say, "The Aristocrats!" and walk off of the stage.
