All paid New Hampshire staff for Michele Bachmann’s presidential campaign have quit over deep frustration with the campaign’s lack of commitment to New Hampshire.

She should drop out while she stills has a shred of dignity left.

It is amazing how far down Bachmann has gone. From 1st tier campaign managed by Ed Rollins to this epic fail.

We all knew she would fall, deep down, after she won the Iowa straw poll.

What you mean is after she bought the Iowa straw poll.

She bought 6,000 tickets for her "supporters". Out of those 6,000 votes she purchased, she got back 4,800 actual cast ballots.

I assume Bachmann's faith is genuine and that she prayed for God to throw her a lifeline as the dam was breaking and then a day later, Herman Cain comes out as a pro-choice Al Qaeda appeaser.

I'm afraid either that's quickly fading from view, or it's completely gone as we speak.

Cain, I believe, had genuine momentum right until Bachmann jumped into the race. She rode high for a while until the Iowa Straw Poll, and the enterance of Rick Perry into the race.

I think conservatives hoped she would make a credible candidate, but after too many gaffes, as well as the entrance of Perry, they dropped her like a hot potatoe. Her lashing out at Perry and Cain prove that she has lost some serious ground. Don't forget she failed to win her own state's GOP straw poll. I think she is gone.

What I find strange about it is, it felt to me like she was only dropped because Perry came along and was more credible: a big state governor of 10 years with a jobs record and financial muscle.  As soon as he flopped, they rewinded two steps instead of one to boost Cain.  Not sure if that was because of Cain's debate performances, charisma or smart strategy to go all in on the Florida Straw poll that he won.  Now that Cain looks vulnerable to flopping himself (though who knows, I guess), why wouldn't they go back to Bachmann?  As far as I can tell, her fall had more to do with attractive alternatives than with her own flaws, so with those alternatives looking less attractive, why wouldn't she rebound?  I realize she's crazy but that was equally evident when she first surged far as I can tell.  Was it the retarded HPV gaffe?  It still seems pretty plausible Bachmann wins Iowa if her campaign can last that long.  One thing we've yet to see is Iowa polling depart radically from national.  So while she and Santorum have spent a lot of time in Iowa retail politics, they're still way behind Cain who has lately neglected Iowa.  Seems hard to know how strongly Iowa will correlate with whoever surges next nationally, if anyone.

Reality check. Gingrich had a bunch of staffers quit on him. He has since surged in the polls. Cain had similiar trouble with his staff. He is now in the lead. It seems the Republican primary electorate is following the actual campaign, and, not the invisible primary of the beltway insiders.

McCain lost his entire staff in 2007, didn't he?

I mean, we already knew Bachmann was on defense. I'd still expect her to have some sort of chance given that Perry has crashed so badly.
