King, I already trademarked the three team names I proposed, so unless we can reach an accomodation, you aren't going to have a team named the Florida Oranges.  I've also take the liberty of trademarking Florida Orange, Florida Juice, Florida Citrus, Florida Grapefruit, Florida Tangerines, Flordia Lemons, Florida Limes, and Florida Key Limes, as well as each of those team names for Tampa, Tampa Bay, Orlando, and Miami in connection with professional sports teams just to cover all the bases.  It's amazing how much piece of mind a little money can buy you under trademark law.

I will give you 65% ownership of the Florida Oranges

I've decided that I'll form a minor league instead, so I'm going to keep the trademarks.

You have too many owners with multiple teams already.

I'd like to buy the Jacksonville Gators, move them to Greenville, SC, and rename them the Carolina Crusaders.  They would play in Bob Jones Memorial Stadium and there would be no beer sales.

Just to keep thiongs simple, I'll base the Carolina Crusaders off of the 2003 Carolina Panthers.

Ok. Lord Traldan will need a new team then, since you have first priority on the Carolinas.

Nah, I'll just select another one then.  How about the 1989 49er's?

Wait wait! What happened to the PA 13ers? This is an outrage!

Ernest, I'm glad you know about some of our excellent hospitals up here.  Smiley

It's amazing what Google can do.

BTW, I eventually intend to transfer the Crusaders to the control of Region OmniMedia Enterprises but not just yet.  After all, I can't expect to build ROME in a day.

Go Crusaders!

We're Two and Oh; Fourteen to go!

Given that we won, I'll be quiet about the decision to go for that final FG with 1:12 to go.  I would have gone for the TD myself, as even if the the attempt failed,  the Saints would have been deep in their own territory, and they still would have needed a TD to win.

Anyway,  the game with Jackson will decide who leads the South Division for at least the next two days.

I'd like to thank our defense for stopping the Bandits on a 4th down with 1 yard to go late in the 4th quarter and our kicker John Kasay who got four field goals in our victory.  Despite what the computer said, it was clearly Kasay who desreved to be that game's MVP.

That's really cool, Ernest. Do you wanna do it for the other 24 teams Smiley

No.

It took long enough to compile the stats for one team.  If I were to do anything additional, it would be to compile the team stats as well as the player stats for the Crusaders.

Division Standings
South
1) Atlanta Fire (3-1)
2) Carolina Crusaders (3-1)
3) Richmond X-Men (2-2)
4) Jackson Bandits (2-2)
5) New Orleans Saints (0-3)

Actually, since the usual first tie-breaker involves the head-to-head record, this should be:

1) Carolina Crusaders (3-1)
2) Atlanta Fire (3-1)
3) Jackson Bandits (2-2)
3) Richmond X-Men (2-2)
5) New Orleans Saints (0-3)

since Carolina beat Atlanta and Jackson and Richmond have yet to face each other.

What will be the additional tie breakers used to determine who gets into the playoffs?

I liked this league better before they did the site upgrade at whatifsports.  Before the upgrade 5-0; after the upgrade 0-5; you do the math.

7 in a row for the Saints. hehe

How does that feel, Philly?

The Saints are #1 in the Southern Division *goes outside to watch the pigs fly*

They haven't won the division yet, so there is still time to prepare for the possibiility of New Orleans freezing over.

As far as I can tell, no team has cliched a playoff spot yet. and only two teams have been eliminated for sure (Buffalo and Wisconsin) with a third (Newark) having a chance depending who who've they've alreafy played and the rest of the schedule.  Considering the streakiness some teams have displayed, I wouldn't worry about thinngs too much just yet.
