published in Germany's biggest news magazine, Der Spiegel; it was conducted in April 2001:
SPIEGEL: Why did you perform at George W. Bush's inaugural party in January? Because you're from Texas? Or because you sympathize with the GOP's views?
Knowles: We don't talk about politics.
Rowland: But we could tell that he was very cool. Much different than on TV - handsomer. He has a tight handshake and he smelled good, a bit of detergent.
Williams: He said we exercised great influence over the youth. Then he danced onstage with Ricky Martin.
