What do you think is the most beautiful election map?

Respecting the adjective "beautiful" I don't refer to an election where your favorite candidate won vastly superior.
Instead I'm looking for maps where the colors of the state yield a specific pattern.

An example for such a map is the 1860 presidential election:



Or the election in 1924:



I especially honor county maps and electoral district maps.

Which map is that homely?

As for me, it has to be this one, especially if it's ever completed, though the 2008 primaries (either) are close behind:

RBH has submitted a ton of great crazy primary maps. States with lots of counties are more fun... Washington unfortunately loses out in this regard (we don't have townships either). Here is one of my favorites:

As for the maps I like, there are a lot and I'd have difficulties to list them (1888 is funny with its perfect Noth/South divide ; 1824, 1860 and 1912 for the division between candidates ; 1960 for the utter randomnesss and extreme closeness of some States ; 1976 for the original East/West divide, etc...).

I imagine that the yellow candidate is white and probably from the northern suburbs of Athens,  but I wonder what explains his support in the far northwest and southeast. Comparative weakness/geographical distance of the others coupled with a more even distribution of the yellow candidate's vote, perhaps.
