New Poll: Wisconsin Senator by Rasmussen on 2011-10-26

Summary: D: 42%, R: 49%, U: 6%

Poll Source URL: Full Poll Details

...

42% Tammy Baldwin (D)

44% Tammy Baldwin (D)
43% Mark Neumann (R)

46% Tammy Baldwin (D)
39% Jeff Fitzgerald (R)

All four candidates run comparably among voters in their respective parties, but Thompson is the favorite among voters not affiliated with either of the Republicans or the Democrats. He gets 47% support, leading Baldwin by 14 points. Neumann holds a very slight three-point edge among unaffiliateds in their matchup, but Baldwin turns the tables and leads Fitzgerald by 13 points - 43% to 30% - among these voters.

Interesting that the Baldwin/Neumann numbers match PPP.

If Thompson wins the primary, then Lean R for sure. If Neumann, then it will be a coin flip. Fitzgerald is helping Thompson like Sowards is helping Wilson in NM- preventing the Teepers from unifying around a single candidate. Would still be embarrassing for the GOM of Cheesehead politics to not even muster an absolute majority in a primary though.
