I'd love to have had the chance to talk to all of them, but if there's one I would really love to have a long, one-on-one chat with about...well, almost anything....it'd be Bill Clinton.

Yes Carter would be an interesting person, but Bill Clinton was much more my cup of tea on a person level.  As for the Republicans, there wouldn't be much point in talking to such people.

I don't talk to strangers much, and even if I did I certainly wouldn't want to subject myself to that.

Why?

The guy was a terrible president, he doesn't understand much about anything in the world(unlike Clinton for example), and you probably wouldn't like the degree of which he's a bible thumper given your -3.3 on social issues.

Just curious.

Hm, that is an excellent point to consider. I guess Bonzo's Co-Star, then.

I really would like to talk Obama about how things have gone so wrong the last few years...though I will say that he has probably had the most succesful foreign policy so far.

Obama, but Carter would be my first choice if you were to move this back by one president. I think Clinton and Reagan would be fairly predictable and not much of value you would get from talking them. Bush W would be only interesting conversation among the Republicans, but I am no sure if he would be sincere when you ask him questions that point out his incompetence.

I dunno. I think it that W would be sincere about why he messed up and why he did what he did. I wouldn't try to be aggresive or demanding to him but I think if you asked him about what went wrong or what his ultimate goals were, I think you would get some deep answers.

Can't decide between Reagan or Clinton. I think that either one would be awesome to talk to one on one.

I suppose I'd take Reagan out of these, but I'd really prefer talking to Nixon given the option.

Ya know...call me crazy, but I'd love to sit and have a conversation with Dubya. He seems like a really cool guy on a personal level.

Obama of course, seeing as I idolized him when I was younger (not something I'm proud of in retrospect).

Since I tend to talk shop in situations where I'm dealing with someone with a lot of experience I wouldn't pick him. But if the question was who would I want to hangout with and shoot the $hit with I would probably pick W. as well.

Clinton or George W Bush. I'd prefer Hillary Clinton to both, but either of them would be fascinating, I think.

Already spoken to Carter - yes, not a great president, but the last one to really have balls to say things people don't want to hear. But a tremendous humanitarian... and far more aware of how the world actually works than most of the people here.

But definitely Clinton.

Bubba by a mile. The man seemingly has interesting things to say about nearly everything, even if not all are necessarily true. Smiley

Reagan, as being able to talk with him would mean not only rising him from the dead, but reversing his Alzheimers long enough to tell the GOP they are all full of crap.

Clinton.  He was, and still is, by far the smartest of the lot, and engaged on every issue.

After him, I'd actually like to talk to George H.W. Bush.  I was never much taken with him as a political figure (thought I did vote for him in 1988).  But after I read his collection of letters, what was it called?, All my Best, the letters revealed him to be an incredibly humane, kind and, yeah I'll say it even though it's intolerably corny, honorable person.

I feel like I might actually have something in common with Jimmy Carter, unlike the people on this list.
