It's crazy to think that the Bloc is no longer the largest party in the IDS. That, and the fact that Labor, that had only one member there back in July August, is now the largest party.

Ain't strategic registration grand?

It's actually tied 7-7.

Minor correction: the IDS has 29 citizens, not 28.

Also, I thought that a new citizen was eligible for a free move to any region for the first seven days after they registered?

I can't find that law. I'll be happy to correct myself if you can find it - perhaps you know where it is. But there's also a provision in the Constitution which states that "persons may only change their state of registration once every two months".

I thought that too, but like Homely, I can't seem to find anything in the Constitution on it. Perhaps it was passed but never added? I'll do some digging...

Yeah, me neither. That Wiki is something else...

I did find these mentions of it, however - including one in the Introduction to Atlasia thread and one reference from the GM:

I'm proud that Labor, in addition to being the largest party, has the most equitable distribution of its members throughout the country.

I've also found that to be quite an achievement for our party. It bodes well for our long-term success. Smiley

Precisely. Early on I felt it would be best to guide Labor into being an equally-distributed party - the vast majority of which was accomplished through new recruitment. While our numbers are large, I think it is better for our long-term success to hedge those large numbers and diversify our portfolio, while always striving to bring new citizens into the fold consistently. As it stands now, no one region can easily move in any one direction without the consent of Labor.

We can't disown him, he's a good socialist friend. We can put him in the Friend Cage, however.

Part of being in Labor means never having to say you're sorry. Cheesy

What a glorious day for the South, as it proceeds to become the largest region in Atlasia.

Also, the Federalist colour is "orangered."

Why did you choose a color so similar to that of the Labor Party?

Technically, Labor is maroon, but we often use maroon and red interchangeably.

I'm wondering if we could get a completely revised set of Census lists? I'm noticing numerous issues when counting:

  • Most recent stats say 54-49-33 Fed-Lab-Lib. My counts show 54-47-34.
  • Progressive Realist is listed as 'Ind' in the A-Z count; he is a Laborite.
  • Quite a few entries have expired dates as opposed to 'xxxxx' in the next possible region change category.

These are comparisons of regional census count lists versus weekly registration statistics:

  • Mideast is listed as having 8 Laborites; I count 6.
  • Midwest is listed as having 10 Laborites; I count 11.
  • Pacific is listed as having 11 Laborites; I count 10.
  • Northeast is listed as having 11 Liberals; I count 12.
  • Mideast is listed as having 18 Federalists; I count 19.
  • Northeast is listed as having 9 Federalists; I count 8.

I could be mistaken, but I believe Labor has 42. We lost 1 member (Politics Junkie) and gained 2 members (Polnut, MustCrushCapitalism).

If I remember correctly, I supported the change because it was just that: change. Personally, though, I would like to see the threshold for major party status at 10.

Updated versions of these (colors are now consistent). I'm pretty sure 7/7/13 numbers for the three major parties are correct, but I did not remember independents or others, nor had I finished the regional populations. Do you still have this info? It looks like it may have been written over by accident when you did the last update.

I don't get an Era on the chart? Cry Cry

Sorry! I couldn't find the thread when I initially did those, updated the weeks and forgot to add it. Do you remember around the time you took office? I also need to verify wolfentoad's again, as his looks off.

I have to admire the extremely even nature of the Progressive Union registration.

They're going for the classic Labor Five-Region Strategy. It's a difficult one to master, but very powerful when done properly. Wink

I thought we were just getting random members but you know whatever floats your boat
^^
As Progressives, we don't tell our members where they should live.

It's a double-edged sword, my friends

Mr. Cooking,

Pursuant to Section 1 of the Fair Deregistration Rights Act, Mr. X's deregistration request is not valid since it occurred within 24 hours of the end of an election in which he was eligible to participate.

Likewise, oakvale's deregistration request on August 24 would be invalid for the same reason, as it took place during the August 2013 At-Large Senate election.

I believe I have the current text properly compiled here! If so, thank you to the Senate for passing this, and I happily sign it into law.
