Still the Rise of Progressivism
NOTE: ITTL, Catholics go over to the Conservative Party in the late twenties following a takeover of the Democrats by Southern Populists. Therefore, the Kennedys, unlikely as I view it in RL, are in the Conservative Party ITTL. Had it not been for William H. Murray, they likely would have remained Democrats until the party collapsed, and maybe even joined the Progressives. Or maybe the party wouldn't have collapsed.

Joseph P Kennedy Jr.
Party: Conservative
Career:
-Congressman from Massachusetts' 11th Congressional District (January 4th, 1945-January 1st, 1947)
-Governor of Massachusetts (January 2nd, 1947-January 2nd, 1953)
-Vice-President of the United States of America (January 4th, 1953-July 3rd, 1953) under Robert Taft
-38th President of the United States of America (July 3rd, 1953-January 4th,1961)
Summary:
Son of former Secretary of State (1926-1929) and Governor of Massachusetts (1937-1941) Joseph P. Kennedy Sr., hero pilot of the Second Great War Joe Jr. would have large shoes to fill upon his return to America in 1943. Elected Congressman in 1944 as many other young veterans (notably Conservatives Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford) did, he would soon be on the fast-track for a spot on the 1952 Conservative party ticket. Taft, in order to appease Catholics and North-Easterners rather than Southerners that time around, would choose the young and vibrant Kennedy, a contrast to Taft's own stiffness. With President Taft's stomach cancer however, he would die, creating "the saddest 4th of July in American history), leaving the young and able Kennedy in charge. Proving to be a Conservative version of Teddy Roosevelt, he would become one of America's most popular leaders, winning re-sounding re-election in 1956, but, surprisingly, declining re-nomination in 1960, handing the nomination off to Vice-President Nixon.

Richard M. Nixon

-Ambassador to the League of Nations (January 4th, 1973-January 4th, 1977) under Howard Baker

Arnold Schwarzenegger (National Liberal-California State)
As a celebrity and Governor of the most populous state in the Republic, Schwarzenegger was an obvious choice for the fledgling National Liberal Party. After sixteen years of electoral defeat, the centrist Liberals and the right-wing Nationals united and spawned the "Electoral Juggernaut", as he was called. Despite initial popularity, Schwarzenegger's popularity would flag after his re-election, the war in Southeast Asia, massive deficits, corruption, and off-putting (yet still ineffective) environmental regulations destroying his second term. Nevertheless, as the right galvanizes for the 2018 election and against incumbent President Barack Obama (Progressive Labor-Hawaii), his popularity has risen. Nevertheless, the activist right, embodied in 2010 third party candidate Marvin Richardson, still distrusts him and other members of the party establishment, saying "Schwarzenegger left this nation a rotting, polluted, debt-soaked, war-bound, and immoral nation."
