Time to dust off this old thread for an announcement...

I, 20RP12, am running for President of Atlasia. This was a long decision that took a few weeks to make, but ultimately I decided in favor of doing it, basically because I just want to get my name out there. I don't expect to win, but I expect to do okay. So welcome! Cheesy

20RP12/Pingvin plan for Prosperity and Peace

Prosperity

Pingvin and I share the belief that economic freedom plays an integral part in overall freedom. We support cutting taxes across the board for each Atlasian as well as decreasing taxes for businesses. We plan to balance these tax cuts with spending cuts to our overseas military operations, whilst strengthening our military here at home. We believe that a strong military is necessary to have. We also plan to repeal and replace the current healthcare law that mandates each Atlasian to purchase health insurance and replace it with a market-based system.

Activity

Pingvin and I are two very active and respected leaders in our respective regions. We both have track records of bipartisanship and activity, and we plan to carry that to Nyman, if elected.

Bipartisanship

As previously mentioned, both Pingvin and I have records of bipartisanship and we plan to work with members of every new party to influence our policies in office. This includes the left AND right wing parties. We are running for President and Vice President of the country, not any party or ideology.

Qualifications

The biggest question this election is experience. We have very well respected candidates in Polnut, ZuWo and Earl for President, and Tmthforu, Jbrase and Dr. Cynic as VPs. All very wonderful people and very qualified politicians. But why are we, 20RP12 and Pingvin, the most qualified to do the job. To answer that question frankly: We're not. Because no one is. Qualifications are subjective. However, I can speak for myself when I say that I have quite the track record behind me. I served numerous terms in the Northeast Assembly, even serving as Speaker. I shortly served as Governor of the Region and now I am an At-Large Senator. Pingvin is an active legislator in the IDS.

Uniting Atlasia

Clearly Atlasia is divided amongst ideologies and parties and whatnot after the dissolution of the two major parties. The rush to join and create these parties was enormous. We believe that Atlasia can be united, however, and we plan to do so through an active, bi-partisan administration that accepts policy ideas from each ideology. We plan to have several different ideologies in our cabinet and we hope to work with an already diverse Senate. This ticket in it's own is extremely diverse: Pingvin speaks Russian and has more right-wing beliefs, I speak a bit of German and have more Libertarian beliefs. Not exactly a match made in heaven, but we came together to form this ticket.

Thank you for your time, spread the message!

February 4th 2012
Seattle, WA

Hello all,

I'm still here in Seattle for the first IFP convention and I'm absolutely loving it here. I'm meeting some great Atlasians who agree with me that our freedoms are precious. So if you want a President who will preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and defend your liberties, elect 20RP12 and Pingvin for President!

We also plan to repeal and replace the current healthcare law that mandates each Atlasian to purchase health insurance and replace it with a market-based system.

Replacing Atlasian National Healthcare with a market-based system is a possibility, but Atlasia doesn't have a mandate to purchase health insurance.

Senator, could we get some specifics on your plans for personal and corporate income tax rates?

We plan to have flat tax rate for each Atlasian of 15% and the corporate income tax will be as follows:

Below $30K - 6%
$30K-$60K - 10%
$60,001-$100K - 14%
$100,001-$175K - 18%
$175,001-$250K - 26%
$250,001-$375K - 35%
$375,001-$750K - 40%
Above $750K - 45%

The corporate tax rates would increase substantially under your plan..

I'm still working on numbers. My head isn't quite in Atlasia right now. I have a lot of sh*t going on in my life. Just please. These numbers aren't final.

Neat!  Oh, and:

-ad, with Jerseyrules in a factory dressed in full worker's uniform-

"Hi, I'm Jerseyrules.  I know I'm new on the political scene, but I've known Atlasia for a while.  I don't always vote in presidential elections, but when I do, I prefer small-government Atlasians who look out for the common man.  Senator 20RP12 is that man.  He's the man we need for Atlasia.  He's fought hard for the people of the northeast as a Senator, and he'll fight for you as your next president.  He's a great Atlasian, he loves his family, his region, and most importantly, his country.  Let's vote for the man who can restore Atlasia now."

Why 20RP12/Pingvin?

Friends,

As this race begins to diversify, especially with the addition of my friends Duke and AndrewPA, we are now up to 5 total tickets for the Presidency of this great nation. Some of you may be unsure as to whom you should vote for. Even if you've made up your mind, let me try and persuade you as to why you should vote for Pingvin and I.

Pingvin and I are both active, bi-partisan, fearless leaders. As President, I can assure you that my cabinet will be filled with members of all parties and all ideologies. Now, while there are 5 great tickets in this race, only one will win. Here's why a 20RP12/Pingvin victory would best benefit Atlasia:

- As previously mentioned, my cabinet would be filled with members of all parties and ideologies. Here's my draft cabinet as of today:

Secretary of Federal Elections: Teddy
RG: Homelycooking
Moderator General: Bacon King
Attorney General: Junkie
Secretary of External Affairs: Napoleon
Secretary of Internal Affairs: Tmthforu94
Game Moderator: Shua

As you can see, we have a multiplicity of ideologies.

It is my firm belief that Atlasian unity will come through this diversity in the cabinet.

-Pingvin and I have a history of activity and bi-partisan leadership.

As Senator, I have yet to miss a vote and have put in my two sense on every bill that has gone up for debate. My enthusiasm is unmatched by any other candidate in this race. Pingvin has been a tireless worker, voting on nearly every piece of legislation introduced since his career in politics began. We don't have the name recognition that some of the other candidates have, but we have a great track record and unmatched enthusiasm. So when you go to vote for President...think...do you want a President that walks the walk...? Or do you want a President that talks the talk?

You use the term ""bi-partisan" a lot, as if there are two parties...perhaps "multi-partisan" would be more appropriate?
