So far, so good for PPP's track record ... Smiley

Makes me hopeful for Cain's chances in the primaries ...

Random Indiana facts few others probably care about...

Indianapolis incumbent Mayor Greg Ballard (R) won reelection tonight. He's currently around 51% of the vote.

In Terre Haute (this is where I campaigned today), Duke Bennett (R) was reelected Mayor, defeating his challenger 67-33%. Republicans also performed very strongly there downballot, and I believe we'll have the largest amount of city council seat we've had in years. Bennett has been a great mayor, so that's most of the reason he won, but I still think it's good for the GOP when we're winning a Terre Haute (a city that voted around 60% for Obama) with over two thirds of the vote.

Also...Republicans won the Mayor's race in Evansville - good news. For a lot of local elections, I will say, especially in these smaller communities around where I live, people often vote by the name, not the party I.D. For example, our new city clerk is technically a Democrat (for ballot purposes), but still won with 84% in a city that voted over 70% for McCain.

If there is a place in America that counts votes slower then Baltimore City, I'd like to know about it.

It took a nearby city 2 and a half hours to report all of their precincts...they have 2.

Anyone else think Kentucky looks like a fish? Maybe I've just been staring at it too long.

Kinda fun to watch the racial voting creak on.  Bryant will probably break 60%, just FYI.  And No on 26 will go down.

Btw, I don't think the Pubbies are going to get that second seat in VA.

The AP projects that the Maine same-day-voter-registration question has passed.

Montgomery County, Virginia (Blacksburg) still hasn't reported a single precinct, three hours after the polls have closed.

Bryant is nearly at 60% already, but No looks to be getting a decisive lead and GOP looks pretty well-positioned to gain the second district. Have you looked at the most recent results?

They just wanted to reaffirm that they're still the worst state in the nation.

Even in Mississippi, we don't believe in forcing 11-year-old rape victims to bear a child at the threat to their own life.  We don't believe in criminalizing miscarriages, and we don't believe that pregnant women with cancer should be denied treatment.

The votes aren't all in yet, but it's looking like Mississippians for Healthy Families did an outstanding job of getting the message out.

These results are pretty good, assuming the current votes hold in Virginia and we hold the Senate.

I won't rest easy until DeSoto comes in, although there's enough black counties with 0 precincts to offset it.  Very proud of Mississippi right now.

Are the black areas voting No?

It looks like Democrats have held on to all their vulnerable State Senate seats tonight.

If the PPP poll was accurate (and it looks like it underestimated No support), yes.

Harrison County, a large county on the coast that gave McCain over 60% of the vote is voting over 60% against 26.

Amite County is the first county totally in.  "Yes" ran 10 points behind McCain's mark.

It's pretty bad when the perennial candidate (Joel Gill) is doing better than the legitimate candidates (Johnny DuPree and Connie Moran, both mayors).
