As an older chap who's been watching (and caring about) other races, I must say, that this is, actually, the behavior most similar to that of my (almost) tween daughter that I've observed on this forum in a while.

Here's the preliminary Ohio Issue 2 map. All but 15 counties are all the way in, but most of those 15 are mostly in. The only county I'd worry about maybe changing on this map is Delaware County. I'll update it if it does.

Fascinating, really fascinating. The general pattern seems to be more about class than partisan identity - or even historical partisan identity. Diolch!

The AP page has Houck up by 204 votes:
Total    62/62   Reeves, 22,391  50%   Houck, 22,595  50

while the VA SOS site has Reeves with 22,536 and Houck with 22,450.  Also 70 write-in votes.

If Reeves does win, the Senate would be tied 20-20.

There is a pattern with this in the AP's election results. They are in such a hurry to try to pad the democrat's numbers, that they make mistakes (or deliberately fabricate results to create controversy.)

It does seem to be more about class than partisan identity, but there certainly is some partisan identity element to it as well. It carried Holmes, Mercer, Shelby Counties as well as the suburban Warren and Delaware Counties. It seems the Amish must have voted for it, as well as parts of the upper Miami Valley.

But yeah, it more or less went down in flames as expected. I don’t think anyone could honestly have said they expected this to pass. I have to wonder—what is the Ohio GOP thinking? They give us three issues to vote on this year: a judicial reform issue no one understands, a labor reform issue no one wants, and a symbolic healthcare issue that doesn’t do anything.

Does anyone have any links that show the real-time election results for the Mississippi legislature?  Because it seems clear that the Mississippi SOS has no intention of providing it.

Republicans won every county office they could win...(per usual)...and held onto their supervisor seat in my corner of Bucks.

The Reform Party candidate appears to have won a county (Jefferson) in the MS Lt. Gov race and 2 counties in the Auditor race (where there was no Dem on the ballot)

There seems to be a fair correlation in Mississippi between %Yes and %Evangelical (using ARDA numbers).

Went into tonight knowing SB 5 was going down, Beshear winning, and Bryant winning.

So for me there were 3, maybe 4 things I wanted and were quite possible.

1) Virginia Senate--Cared about that the absolute control of all houses in Virginia and is way more valuable to me than the remaining 3 items.

2) Mississippi House--Looking pretty damn good so far

3) Iowa State Senate--To bad!

4) Cutting the Dem majorities in the NJ chambers by a few members--Didn't happen, but isn't as valuable as the top 3 items


So I'll say that I'm quite content so far, and if the GOP pulls the MS house I turn to very happy.



Otherwise issue 3 in Ohio was at least somewhat interesting in regards to the 2012 election, but I'm already quite sure Obama will lose Ohio anyway so I didn't really care. Of course I'm not happy that SB 5 is over, but for me I had my disappointment several months ago when it made it on the Ballot because I knew it would be thrown out.
