What is the exact current partsian composition again in the VA State Senate for those who don't follow it ?

It currently looks Democratic incumbents are losing 3 seats or so, but not a lot is in so far.

22-18 Dems.

Well, it certainly helps when you have a Governor with 70% approval ratings ... Tongue

KY Governor is exactly how I would have predicted it, based on the undecideds in the SUSA poll.

Let's see who's voting in MS:

I wonder how she voted on the Personhood issue ...

I have no clue how this will play out, I'll predict it'll pass by 52-48 ...

Same day voter registration in ME has a lead so far (60-40), which means the GOP-backed law is heading for failure. But only 8% in.

MS Gov. is now just 53-47 for Bryant ...

If DuPree could just somehow end up at abou 45% when everything's counted - it would be good.

The AP projects that the Maine same-day-voter-registration question has passed.

Good job MS on the personhood thing, but electing a black Governor was probably a step too much ... Tongue

BTW, Democrat Liz Mathis has a huge lead in IA-18 so far (72-28).

Overall, a good night so far for the Democratic cause (except for the OH health law, where voters obviously still want to get screwed over by the health insurance companies).

CNN said there is no exact trend for tonight, but I think this is looking to be a very positive night for progressives.

Let's see:

* MS Gov: Republican easily elected, Republican measure fails - it's a wash
* KY Gov: Democrat easily re-elected
* NJ: Democrats hold House & Senate (?)
* VA: Democrats could hold House & Senate (?)
* ME: Republican measure strongly fails
* OH: Unions win, Health Care loses -  it's a wash
* IA: Democrat on track to win, State Senate likely remains Democratic

With half of the precincts in, Democrat Liz Mathis leads by 62-37 in Iowa-18.

PPP said Mathis by 52-46.

* VA: Democrats could hold House & Senate (?)

The GOP currently controls the House 61:39 (the two independents caucus regularly with the House GOP), and unless you have information that I don't, we are not taking the House this year.

Ah, sry, my fault.

Iowa Senate Distric 18 is now fully counted:

55.8% - Liz Mathis (D)
43.5% - Cindy Golding (R)

PPP said 52-46 for Mathis.

Democrats retain control of the Iowa Senate.

That last precinct came in big for Reeves, with his win and Stanley's win, THE GOP takes the VA SENATE!

The AP has the Democrat ahead though in SD-17 (and with more votes than the VA SOS site).

Weird.
