Welcome to GusNews anonymous Nyman insider analyst's take on the coming elections...

ANIA: Well, to start off with the senatorial elections, one can say that a few incumbents seem pretty safe. The two popular ex-presidents, Nym90 and JFK should manage reelection easily. The one with the most uphill battle is probably senator Bono, should he elect to run. He is however aided by the fact that there are few prominent left-wingers left in his district to challenge him. The moderate and popular senator Defarge in D1 should not have much of a problem either, but if he faces ColinW the race could still be tough. In the Southeast senator StatesRights, the longest serving member of the senate, could well be defeated now that he has alienated both the centre, left and right. Overall, the AFRNC is likely to suffer and might be left without representation altogether, a little discussed probability.

For the presidential election it looks like we have the candidates from the right and centre spelled out: KEmperor and PBrunsel. The left seems to have trouble uniting behind one candidate. With PBrunsel's problems in rallying his own base, with not even his own party chairman behind him and little but the loony wing of his party seemingly still supporting him, another one-term president seems to be a likely result. The Republicans thus run the risk of leaving the upcoming elections without a single elected official, and perhaps not even any appointed ones. Are we seeing a party dying?
