The Vice President is now just a dude picked by a candidate.
On regional level we're electing our Governors/Emperors/Prime Verins and Lieutenant Governors/Viceroys/Deputy Prime Verins separately and it's far more interesting to the game. I can't see no reason against employing that on federal level.

I normally do not speak on active bills but this is a wonderful idea, a first step in reforming the job. I'd even think that we could do these elections during the at-large elections, but alas, we should not chase two rabbits at once.

Also, I believe it's more fair that the people will elect the man one click away from the Presidency, rather than have a running-mate attached to the presidential candidate name above their heads.

How would anyone actually run for VP though? They could, but how would they campaign on running for VP if they will not be doing anything?

The same reason people are running for Lieutenant Governors, for example.
Are you suggesting no one would run if not picked by a candidate? That'd nonsense.

I have mixed feelings. I kind of hate unity tickets. But I kind of want to give the Cabinet Flexibility Amendment a chance to affect the VP first... :\

I understand your concerns, bgwah. However, cabinet flexibility does not mandate either Vice President now any Secretary to be assigned an additional portfolio. It's totally up for President is he wants to.
By the way, I believe just "voting with some dude attached to the ticket" is not only unfair to the voters, but candidates himself. Vice Presidency is the
only
elected office people can't seek on their own.

No, but it would be as useless an election at say a Lt. Governor's race. We have people advocating the abolishment of the Lt. Governorship, yet we are wanting to make another useless election? I voted for the cabinet flexibility amendment because I wanted to give this whole reform the VP position a shot. Let's give it a chance before we go messing with the position again.

The current tally is 4-2-1.
Yankee and Jbrase have yet to vote. And Nathan once he takes office, presumably.
