Per a new Quinnipiac poll which has Nelson leading only 42-40 and Mack easily dominating the GOP field.

Impressive. I'd like to see PPP confirm this though.

PPP last polled it 8 months ago, which had Nelson up 47-34. It seems like Nelson is getting dragged down by Obama despite having the same 2-1 favorables as Rubio.

I never actually bought thoose Polls that had Nelson winning by 10-15%. This seems far more plausible.

This is the first poll with Mack in it, btw.

This could be an excellent pickup opportunity for Republicans, though there are other Democrats I'd rather target. Has Nelson said for sure that he's running?

Nelson has extremely good favorables, as long as he maintains them, he wins. I'm guessing this is just announcement bump.

Actually it is isn't. There were some older polls that included him along with Jeb Bush. Bush was tied, Mack was down by I think 8 or 10. With the others like Hasner, Haridopolos and LeMiuex doing down by double digits.

Ok, it's the first poll in the database here that included Mack. Tongue
