I have never had first hand contact with muon. What is his ideology?

I'll have to remedy that some time when I'm in MI. If that's OK with you. OTOH you could let me know if you are going to be in IL.

I don't mind. And yes, I do like tackling complex issues that require nuance. I don't think that needs to take away from basic principles, it just doesn't translate well into simple solution soundbites.

not to argue, but isn't the preamble to the Constitution a simple soundbite which lays down our basic principles

Moose, of course he has even less of a chance than Torie of winning a Primary

Probably true...to the part where I am less likely than torie to win the GOP primary

Wonkish1

Torie would be a worse candidate than any of the current GOPhers, for obvious reasons.

Um, there are a lot of people here.

But I would suspect that Moun and I are probably the two right now who have the experience to be a candidate. I think Phil would be a good candidate to take down Obama too.

You think Gingrich can beat Obama, if only he starts being more of a dick?

I would guess someone like TJ in Cleve. Torie's arrogance (and social liberalism) would be his downfall, much like Gingrich, whom he loathes so.

1st. Torie
2nd. Isaac (too young, maybe)
3. Clarence (John McCain would have won in another year)

Only counting those who could win a primary... there are some moderate options who'd better run as independent or libertarian because the GOP would never nominate them

He has a good grasp of the issues, a reasonably non-controversial and successful personal life AFAIK (big), and is an excellent debater.  Unlike Gingrich, he doesn't talk about moon bases.

Wonkish would be a good candidate, but I cannot see him (or myself) beating Obama. Clarence could crush Obama in a landslide. TJ in Cleve would do well, and Keystone Phil could win too.
