Thats not what I saw in your posts.  But then again your grasp of what is going on in this thread is interesting sometimes.  At one point you wrote "I traditionally don't like talking about social issues that much. This was probably my first foray into one since coming to this forum...".   The article was about an incident of alleged vandalism and assault -- thats not a social issue.

Where are the demands to look at the explicitly provocative and pathetic responses from Leif stating the beating was deserved because he supports NAZI's, or how about bgwah who just assumes that the person faked it, or Memphis for comparing the GOP to Hitler? I didn't find Averroes' comment as provocative. I instead found it very odd! And most of that response was directed at Lief.

The subject of a gay conservative is very pertinent to social issues. That said I have really spent most of my time on here in policy and econ threads and poli sci threads. This would be the closest I have ever gotten to social issues. Also crime is at least a borderline social issue.

How is it revealing that I made the mistake to post with non posters included in the group when all I failed to do was to separate them into another post without the response directed mostly at Leif?


I've had enough of this crap about me being on a cross or a righteous victim. Me pointing out that people's desire to attack me has absolutely nothing to do with being a victim and everything to do with the fact that they have little substance to their response. My condemnations of Lief and bgwah were justified. Do you think they didn't deserve that? Do you agree with them?

Take it easy.  It was a slow news day.  Everybody got to post, argue, and simultaneously feel they were more superior than the person they were debating.  It was fun for everyone.

Actually I kept cracking up as other parts of the forum languished and this thing kept growing.  For a bunch of supposedly educated people that are full of themselves we've made something beautiful here and I demand that you recognize it.

Whoa!  Do you have any idea how boring this place would be today if this masterpiece hadn't been created?  Wonkish1 did not debate in this thread all by himself.  There was a sick need on the part of multiple forum members to post and keep posting.  It's like my Rush Limbaugh theory.  My hunch is there are a chunk of Limbaugh listeners who are Libs or Dems.  They like the show because they like to be outraged.  I was actually fascinated by how this thing kept growing.  Every time I came back there was another page.
