I don't know guys, just a search for Aetna Salt Lake City reveals some jobs with company in the Salt Lake City area and plenty of them involve web development.  Maybe Bushie isn't lying this time.

Either way, I won't be surprised.  Hopefully the writers have a better twist coming.

For that to be true, you're believing that SLC job is real, and he intended to tell us about that.  Instead, he told us about the job, but accidentally described it as in the city of anothe job he so far hasn't mentioned once (coming from someone who shares almost everything he does with the forum), but that doesn't matter because the SLC job is a guarantee, so we don't have to worry about the othe job.

Does that sound reasonable?  No.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Bushie considers finding the willpower to fill out an application as being on the verge of getting hired.

Maybe J-Mann knows if this is real or not?

Unfortunately, I don't -- all I have is Jeff's word to go on. My company had one specific position that he applied for, but we didn't talk about any other possibilities.

Jeff -- I would hope that, if nothing else, the little bit of counseling and interview experience that you got with us proved that legitimate organizations have a detailed vetting process that (even if you don't get the job) can be of great benefit to both the company and the candidate.

I find it very odd that you're saying that you'll have to wait until you get to Utah to see whether or not this opportunity is what you believe it to be. You know I'm supportive ... but I'd be awfully disappointed in you if this supposed new job wasn't as thoroughly vetted by you as it should have been. You know better.

EDIT: I'd also be disappointed if you are not telling the truth. Extremely disappointed.

The whole going there and staying in an econolodge or a few weeks to see if you like it sounds so fishy to me. If you're not all in, don't go for it. This whole I might stay or I might not sounds so odd, especially if it is a legitimate job.

Guys, I know what job I have and I'm going up there on Monday to get into the hotel.  The reason for the hotel is to make 100% sure this job is going to last.  I know it will last, but just by some chance it doesn't, I'm not tied to a 6 month lease.  I'm taking things cautiously because I remember what happened to me in Kansas City 5 years ago and Dallas 4 1/2 years ago.  I dont want a repeat.  Anyway, I will get up there Tuesday evening about 3:00-3:30 and sign the paperwork and get the badge on Monday, and officially start Wednesday, September 12, 2012.  I will be fine.  Inks, not all of my eggs are in this basket.

Hmm.. I really hope this turns into something real. This certainly can't be a joke, because although entertaining, Bushie is certainly no Ruth Buzzi.

I will assure you, it is nowhere near as real as the love we have for one another.

Purple heart

Again.. can you give us any specifics of this basket, as well as exactly how many eggs we are talking about. The people have the right to know.

>describes job as a "sure thing"
>cautious because he's not "100% sure this job is going to last"

>he's going to be working for "a large, well-known, reputable company"
>this mystery company apparently already has given him a date for getting his badge
>he's only talked with this company on the phone once
>he didn't mention it to the forum until after Kansas plans fell through

>The mystery job is totally a Jr. Web Developer at Aetna
>Except it's not for like a dozen reasons

>The job is just south of Ogden
>oh wait, it's in SLC
>yeah, totally in SLC, it's Location A on that map
>Location A is not in SLC
>Zoom in and see it's a mislabeled residential neighborhood

>There's apparently a second job offer near Ogden that's a possibility
>Didn't mention this until he had to cover a lie
>Says he's not going to worry about it because other job is a "sure thing"
>Hasn't mentioned it since

>Even though "Aetna job" isn't "100%", is already planning on coming home if it falls through
>Totally ignoring the "other offer" he fabricated to cover his lie
>Totally ignoring the possibility of finding any other jobs there
>Already has a specific date for when to come home if "just by some chance" things don't work

I think that covers all the plot holes! Anyone see anything I missed? Smiley

I'm rooting for BushKE, but I know this is a lie. I guess we can just sit back and wait until he returns to Oklahoma after being let go for some random reason.

I don't think he'll make it that far, because I don't think the job exists.

It is no lie.  The reason why I'm saying we'll wait until I get there is I've realized that no matter what I say, the forum won't believe me and I'll be wasting my time trying to answer their questions.  That's fine if the forum won't believe me.  I know what I've got in Utah and I will not be derailed.  I'm really not looking for the forum's approval, I'm just having fun.  There is no need to lock the thread right now (at least from my view point).  I know I opened Pandora's Box when I reopened the thread this past Spring and I told Inks I could handle anything that came my way.  The forum hasn't derailed my thinking at all, I've just been having fun.  Sometimes, talking to a brick wall is fun (you guys can understand that!).  I enjoy this forum and even when you guys bicker and poke holes in every thing I bring before you, I'm just having fun.  The only thing I ask is that none of this ever makes its way to facebook.  What is said on the forum, stays on the forum.

No... someone who quit a job to go chase a potential job just to have his dreams shot down should not be on welfare.

See, this is almost like that one job he had, where he thought it was for Playground equipment.. he showed us the link to the place and everything...and it turned out to be a different company, selling vacuums.

Obviously his (and most Americans) lives would be much better if he were guaranteed housing and a generous dole by the state. Some people are just not cut out for or do not want to have employment, and for them the government should step in and support them.

Why should the government help people who are not willing to help themselves?
