I just had dinner with my parents this evening and they were initially concerned that I had quit my job or quitting my job.

I will also need crisp, fresh dollar bills (2006 or newer) as they have a better exchange rate.

I... don't think that's how money works?

4 hours in Amsterdam, hm? Well the Amsterdam airport is conveniently located above a train line IIRC, so there should be plenty of time to get into town and visit a coffee shop.

Either way, it's looking like my Kenya trip will be unpaid leave, which is unnerving, but my God has called me to go, and i have faith that He will provide.  I've got contingency plans and backup funds available and ready to activate in March for my bills.  So, I'm not worried.

Sure it's formulaic, and we've seen it a hundred times before, but the writers are returning to a tried and true trope that's entertained the audience in the past. Maybe by putting it in the Africa setting, they'll breathe some new life into the well-worn formula.

Uh... I hope he's taking a multivitamin or something because that doesn't sound very nutritious at all.

This is a masterful bit of plotting by the writers. We all thought that the Kenya episodes would be a ratings gimmick, but instead the impending trip been used to force a decision that otherwise wouldn't make any sense and would break the willing suspension of disbelief. They've managed to weave the season's plot threads together very skillfully and now we'll see it all to come to a head at once in the final third of the season. Really well done.

Yeah, the writers are laying on the ironic foreshadowing a little too thick here. It's pretty clear he's not going to get the job at this point.

Life must be depressing when you believe all your successes comes from a magical man in the sky who you have no control over and all your failures are completely your fault.

F[inks]... he's treating these children just like he treated Tiffanye (or whatever). Known them for less than a month and he already loves them like his own to the point that he's willing to die for them!

It's strange that God didn't know what the adoption laws in Kenya were when he told Bushie to adopt these children. But I guess God is too busy personally communicating with random people in Oklahoma to look into these sorts of things.

Not entirely sure what you think God is going to do here...

Gets the laws barring single males from adopting changed? Even if we assume God can do that, why would He have a law that protects against sex trafficking repealed so that one person can adopt two kids? I don't think that two kids being adopted is worth many more kids essentially being adopted as sex slaves. But I guess God has never had a problem giving the a-okay to pointless suffering before.

In the BushOK movie, his Christmas obsession would be something shown in the opening credit montage.
