Gingrich has that fighting spirit. Dontcha see? Romney will suffer from McCain syndrome, low conservative enthusiasm = Obama win.

Neither could beat Obama, and it is not because Obama is much of a challenge right now, either.

Always has been Romney, always will be. The goal for the GOP at this point shouldn't be creating enthusiasm on their side, it should be deflating the enthusiasm against their candidate on the Dem side.

With Newt, you have social cons who stay home because they're either shocked by his personal behavior or dislike his attitude. I'm of the opinion that 3 marriages trumps Romney's Mormonism, period. Not only is Romney more acceptable to social cons, he's less offensive to moderate Democrats. So why on earth wouldn't he have a better shot?

Romney has proven over the past year that he's a pretty abysmal politician. People just don't like him or trust him, and that's the most important thing in this game.

Again, Mormonism is far down the list of Romney's problems with the jmfcst's.

Gingrich. I always say that if you would have told me in 98 that he would be the GOP frontrunner for 2012, I would have laughed.  But strange as it may be- he is something NEW.  Substance over appearance

That certainly isn't the reason he'd win.

Nothing new about the old blow-hard, and though he knows how to use fancy words, the substance of his candidacy is no different than the average of the rest of the candidates.

It's all in his attitude. His cocky attitude would just smack Obama around. Obama has proven to be too much of a nice guy. We know where those ers finish.

Literally, he's the only one who can tie together sentences and can also be mean to Obama. That's really all the Republicans need this year. Someone who can say:

Obama sucks, liberal liberal liberal. I'm awesome, conservative AMERICA conservative.

Literally none of the other candidates accomplish this without stammering or throwing in some ridiculous off-topic sh**t.

Would you vote for Romney in the general?

Only Barack can beat Obama.

And he's trying to, oh yes he is.
