I disagree with both of them. Amnesty for all who have been here for 20 years, speak English, and have NO criminal record. All others should be deported, and repeat offenders (people who keep entering illegally) should be prosecuted and imprisoned.

I think he's supporting some type of permanent residency that allows them to work, but not get citizenship.

It sounds like he's allowing illegal immigrants who have been here a long time (and raised families and "go to church") to be lawful permanent residents, but not citizens. So a "soft" amnesty, of sorts, yeah.
