Credit Where Credit is Due Resolution
When updating the statute on the Wiki, the "Notes" section must, in addition to original sponsor, the date of passage, the date of coming into effect of law, and a link to the debate thread of the law in question, also include a note of which Senators amended the bill during it's period of debate.
Sponsors: Marokai, Duke

When I was AG, I always included sponsor, passage date, signing date, link to debate thread etc.
I think it's kind of legislating an obvious thing, but if you want this resolution, then I call for a rapid passage.

I would urge the PPT to invoke UC and call a 24 hour objection period on waving the minimum 72 hour debate period. If no one objects, we could have a final vote open by tomorrow afternoon.

So lemme get this straight... The AG is supposed to read through every thread and figure out who amended it? How much work would that have been for a longer bill, like the SS one? Isn't AG already the worst job in the world that Presidents have trouble filling?

Or they could just use my Amendment tracker.
It includes the names of the bills which they are amending. Wouldn't be that hard to see click all the ones for a particular bill to see what passed or failed. I could do it in 30 minutes on dial up. So I would assume it would take you guys 10 or less.

Most threads aren't terribly long anyway, and AGs already have to look for dates and current versions of bills. As Yankee said, there's also the amendment tracker.

Another question---why is this a resolution? Are we just
requesting
that the AG does this?

I guess people could also read the linked thread if they want to see the bill's creation and creators.

I thought it might be more appropriate, because we never really codified in statute the normal wikiing procedure anyway, but it could at least provide some sort of general guideline.

You're right, we should just get rid of the wiki entirely and make all the pages just links. If they want to read it, they could just click the link!

It's less tedious effort for an interested reader to click a linked thread to learn more about a law. It's more tedious effort to have the AG look up who amended each bill and post it on the Wiki. Still, I don't really care either way. This is one of the least important issues brought up during either of my Senate terms.

As a former Attorney General, who literally spent hours cleaning up wiki mess and including all informations, I wholeheartedly support this measure.

And I, as a three-time former AG, also support this.

I'm not sure AG Vacancy has the time to fulfill the duties entailed in this law.

Yes, Cincy, I am quite sure AG Vacancy is too much of an empty suit for this. I doubt whether he has the mental competence to handle it. I mean you would think, he would have atleast shown up at the Justice Dept or a Senate hearing, just once. Wait, DRAG THAT SOB IN HERE AND CHARGE WITH CONTEMPT OF THE SENATE!!!

Aye; this is harmless codifying of wiki procedure with only a small addition.
