This race literally hasn't moved since June. Exact same results as PPP's last poll.

Yeah, he's cooked more likely than not.  Easily the most likely of the "toss-ups" to flip R.

If that race was held today, Tester would win. A challenger with negative approvals almost never wins and that logic makes the two point lead very insignificant. Rehberg is very unlikeable, whereas Tester can bounce back somewhat.

If he's so unlikeable, why did he win with over 60% in 2010?

Because it was 2010. His lawsuit against firefighters was dropped, but it still cast him negatively. He also has the tendency to say the wrong thing and his drinking problem adds to that.

As DrScholl noted, he really has an impressive ability to put his foot in his mouth. This race seems like it will be very much a pure toss-up. However, we'll if Tester's approvals worsen further, it could start pulling more towards Rehberg.

I know next to nothing about Rehberg, so I looked him up on Wikipedia. Assuming this isn't vandalism, uh, em...

Quote
Rehberg left an "Idaho Travel Package" on the airplane seat of Rep. Mike Simpson, R-Idaho. The contents included a stuffed sheep with gloves attached to it, a Village People CD, books on cross-dressing and sign language, and a T-shirt that reads, "My senator may not be gay, but my governor is Butch."

Rehberg's travel bag was first reported by The Hill newspaper, which covers Congress. It said Rehberg was proud of the gift bag and quoted him as boasting, "I spent a bit of time putting the things together."

Uhuh.

I will now support him just for that act of troll-ery.

Anyway, does it really matter at this point?  I still lost 2 pounds as a result of the 4 sloppy joes.

OK, that's actually not an entirely unfunny practical joke. In a frat boy let's spray warm beer on the fags kind of eway maybe, but still worth a chuckle.
