I suggest making it so only logged-in members can view these sub-forums.

This would hopefully allow the moderators (cough Inks) to cut down on censorship without having to worry about these sub-forums giving the website a bad reputation or ending up blocked by school websites.

This is very common on other forums.

Profanity is against the ToS.  With or without it being public, I'll infract profanity.  I'm opposed to this on the Off Topic board, but fully support it for FC.

Indeed.  Only Dave can do something like this.  And Dave has said repeatedly that the best way to reach him is via email.  He rarely reads the forum, and is unlikely to be reading this thread.

I could support this (as well as removing Inks with someone more relaxed) -by making it members-only we can jettison the censorship over profanity and nudity (or semi-nudity) that we have now.

Dude, I'm only the Sheriff of Nottingham here. You have to go to King Richard if you want the rules or structure of the Forum changed.

I do agree this is a good suggestion, as one of the reasons that Dave has cited for restricting profanity is that he doesn't want the site blacklisted in schools; he thus very well might be willing to change the standards for FC only if it were made non publicly viewable. I'm sure Inks would then be more than happy to comply with the new standards.
