LOL santorum.

Romney 36% (+1)
Santorum 22% (-1)
Gingrich 17% (+1)
The guy who is yet to win anything 10% (-1)

I think the Whack-a-Mole will be making an appearance, if not this week, then the next.

Today's Gallup makes me sad, but I am consoled by the fact that history shows that Gringrich or Santorum will probably surge again, somehow.

But if Romney now leads forever more, I am a sad panda. Sad

I warned that it would be challenging to clean up Santorum with Mittens.

38% is the highest anyone has ever been in the tracking poll.

Today's Gallup almost made me spit out my tea in surprise.

Romney: 34% (-4)!
Santorum: 24% (+2)
Gingrich: 15% (NC)
Paul: 12% (NC)

I think 4 points is the single biggest movement of any candidate in a single day. Are people getting cold feet about Romney just before Super Tuesday? I hope so. But yeah, Mitt just lost a whopping 6 points of his lead in a single day, something so far not seen except during massive surges.

I'm hoping this isn't just a huge outlier yesterday, and a prelude to a huge surprise upset today.

Santorum isn't going up that much, however.

Two points in one day in a 5-day tracking poll is pretty big movement.

Bigger swing that at the start of the latest Romney surge (February 25th).

It's not a straight shift to Santorum.  A 6 point drop versus a 2 point increase?

A bad sample rolled off, a bad sample rolled on, and Mitt's momentum had halted in between (ie, he was back at his full potential.)

He'll probably still be basically ending this tonight. Sad

Guys, this was before last night. We should see a swing similar to yesterday's.

In favor of Romney, probably.

Not when the narrative was that he didn't do as well as expected/he can't seal the deal with the base.
