Barack Obama talking about his family values and his faith is like Mitt Romney saying hes a christian. Both of those are just complete lies by the two of them.

astonishing.

Everyone cares about the economy right now. Why the hell didn't he produce an ad highlighting Texas' job creation during his time as Governor, or something like that? This is stupid.

because gay-bashing is still a sure-fire vote-getter.

Ads like this is why this country should be blown up from the core.  Seriously, what an embarrassment.

Reporter: "Mr. Perry, would you care to comment on your recent fall in the polls?"

Candidate: ""Look! Yonder's two men kissin' one another!"

It's now the 2nd most disliked video on YouTube, after Justin Bieber.

I for one support the right of gays and lesbians to openly celebrate Christmas.

Are any of you going to join the movement to report the video as hate speech?

I haven't. The more people who see it the better.

This is probably the best ad I have seen this cycle. I don't understand where all the negativity comes from.

However, it won't save Perry's flailing campaign. Bachman and Santorum have probably locked up social conservatives.

Agreed, ridicule with a mass of dislikes is the best response.

Far better to make him look ridiculous than to try to shut him up and let him cry "victim."

If Perry finishes 6th place in Iowa but still has some money in the bank, does he continue?

The angle he was going for: "its okay to be open about sex and sexuality, and not open about faith" was really lost in this spot. I believe it would have been better for him to go the prayer in schools route since that always polls favorably, not the don't ask don't tell thing.

Most likely he stays in, and makes a deal with Romney to sling negative ads at Newt and split the SoCon vote, much like Thompson did in 2008.

School and the military are apples and oranges.  He should have said Obama has banned Christians from serving in the military and replaced them with gays.  That's an easier contrast for his target audience to grasp.

He spews hate and make up crap about a war on Christmas and Obama's war on religion.  This has become one of the most disliked videos on youtube, absolutely classic.

It makes me sick.

President Obama is no more blatant a secularist than (Southern Baptist!) Jimmy Carter. America is the most profoundly-religious of advanced Western societies because it has a heritage of religious freedom that allows people to find the religion (or irreligion) of their choosing.

I know from experience what "religion in public schools" means -- that some "evangelist" comes to school gets a captive and impressionable audience for some spiel that tells that they need to "give their lives to Jesus" -- his way, of course -- so that they can avoid ending up where John Dillinger and Al Capone are. Of course that "evangelist" may have convinced some half-witted school principal that such a spiel can deter 'juvenile delinquency' that invariably arises from a lack of religious belief.

So long as there are spelling tests there will be school prayer. Some kids actually say grace before school lunches. Nobody stops that. I can assure you that a majority of schoolteachers are religious people; it's just that they know that in a classroom that their specific religious tradition may not be the right one to expose before the class.

That's before I even mention homophobia. Does anyone believe that "Love thy neighbor" does not extend to gays and lesbians?
