Yep, I really don't even care anymore. Go for it. Vote this down.

VETO

I am vetoing this bill because I do not think it takes into account the information that the GM gave.  I also question the legality of declaring the pension contract null and void.

Send me a bill that reforms the post office taking into account long term costs and finds a fairer way to reduce labor costs.

Is the senate going to let this veto stand?  If so, I'd like to see a new postal reform bill ASAP.

I found concerns with the language of the bill, not the idea of reforming the postal service..  hint hint...

Just a couple notes from the PPT

-A sponsor has 72 hours to attempt a veto override. That means there is 1 day left.

-The President can actually send back his own draft that the Senate can vote on. Here are the specifics from the Constitution:

I have no intention of fighting this veto.

Unfortunately I issued the veto before I realized I could submit my own draft of the bill.

So I will write up a draft and see if a senator can propose the new draft bill taking into account the information that Shua provided so we can get this important legislation passed into law.

Unfortunately, these pension plans will likely have to be severely reduced or voided if the post office will ever get out of trouble. Of course, if it is left alone and goes bankrupt they'll void the pension plans anyway, and I know that is legal.
