Young congressmen/women who could run for President

In 2007, did any one see first term Congresswoman Michele Bachmann being at one point a top tier candidate for the 2012 GOP nomination? What current young Congressmen and Congresswomen can you see making a splash in the 2016 election. Here is one....
Congressman Duncan Hunter
Marine Corps combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan
Charismatic- I think he could run as he father did but have more success

I think that Justin Amash can try in a 2016 or 2020.

don't you usually have to win a statewide election to be considered a viable contender? Hunter could maybe win a senate race in an open seat scenario, but he would probably have to recant his views on mexicans.

I think that speaks to the lunacy of the Republican electorate. By your logic we should also expect the next Donald Trump, Herman Cain, and Rick Perry. Two of those people have never won any elected office. And Herman Cain has tried multiple times. You might as well ask which random sex offender off the street do you think will be a leading GOP contender four years from now.

Even if Hunter flip flops on his views on Mexicans he still will have a tough time winning an open US Senate Race in CA unless Democrats nominate OJ Simpson.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm praying for another black-yellow majority, and for the SPD to get shattered. It's exactly what it deserves.

His district is being made slightly more Democratic and he has a good opponent in Lois Brown, but still Lean R according to Rothenberg & Sabato.

West is toast if he runs in the new FL-22. It voted 56% for Obama and Kerry. That would be like Nancy Pelosi representing a district that McCain won.

I think Heath Shuler or Jason Altmire would be good; of course, they're probably too conservative by the standards of national Democrats.

Sadly, he wont be reelected. I have heard rumors that he will make a late entry into the Senate race, or possibly be appointed to the Senate if Rubio becomes VP in 2013...
