Jim Matheson announced that he will running in the new 4th district rather than pursing statewide office.

Does anyone know exactly how red UT-04 is? If I remember correctly, its 56-57% McCain, but I could be wrong.

His current district is R+15, and will likely get even more Republican after redistricting.  But I still think he's in a pretty safe spot, given his conservative voting record.

If he hung in for 2010, he'll be fine 2012.

It's 56% McCain, according to Roll Call. That's a little bit better than his current seat.
