Homelycooking, which Lynn Hunt text are you citing?

I had to use de Tocqueville's Recollections myself recently (in a paper about Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte and his coup).  It's funny that I've now read three books by de Tocqueville and still haven't read Democracy in America.  The Old Regime and the French Revolution is a magnificent book that has only gotten the respect it deserves in the last 25 years or so.

Also, aren't even a lot of the "aristocracy" in fact descended from Restoration-era "nobility" rather than the real Old Regime set?
