It really isn't.  There are a lot of cultural cues that can put someone of the exact same skin tone in multiple different categories.

Also, this poll has a rather bizarre implication that everyone from each of the above states has the same race.  Israelis?  Seriously?  Israel is a nation of immigrants in much the same way as the US is, and Israelis span the color spectrum.

Albanians, Latvians, Romanians. For all the other people listed, I can think of at least one example who is either iffy or clearly not white.

Voted for everybody on the list except Congolese, Japanese, Kenyans, Nigerians, and Vietnamese. Which is the broadest possible definition, I guess.

Of course, this doesn't exclude the possbility that most of the people on the list could be put in multiple "racial" categories. In fact they should.

My father is olive-skinned Italian, and I only consider myself "white" because everyone else does. To me "white" is that pasty-celtic Irish.

This is true, but it's rather the point of the thread. If it were objective, there'd be no point in a discussion. You may as well have a thread asking who the current President of the United States is. But the question is further flawed becuase the population of these countries is not homogenous. I'm sure there is a class of people in each country who everybody agrees is white. Perhaps descendants of immigrants from the Nordic Countries. And each country has at least a few people of African origins who we can all agree are not white.

I'm sure there is a class of people in each country who everybody agrees is white. Perhaps descendants of immigrants from the Nordic Countries. And each country has at least a few people of African origins who we can all agree are not white.

     There's even heterogeneity among long-standing ethnic groups in these countries. For example, Russia comprises both ethnic Russians & other indigenous groups, such as the Yakut.
