Seriously? This guy sets off an alarm in an airport security line and refuses a patdown, so he gets arrested and somehow he's the hero from it? And the TSA didn't grope him or anything crazy like that?

If Rand Paul wants to exercise his right to privacy of the possessions he carries with him, he should exercise his right not to get on a commercial airplane. Basically, the senator needs to act like a pompous spoiled brat and throw a temper tantrum because he can't bring some metallic object on an airplane.

What has happened to my party? The inmates are running the assylum.

What a hero!!!

There's a problem with your formulation: he didn't set off the detector. Around his knee it beeped. Rand Paul raised his trousers to show that nothing caused the beep, and, requested a rescan since the wand obviously malfunctioned.
