I'm closely watching how China will respond during the transition process and how this affects their politics. Is North Korea like Libya where the totalitarian regime rests on one person alone and is so brittle? Only time will tell.

I'm streaming CCTV at the moment and awaiting their noon news bulletin.

Just a few minutes ago the Chinese news portals were hosting lively comments and discussions. Now they have all shut down. I'm guessing the Imperial Court Politburo sees this as sensitive.

I actually hope there is instability on the grounds that it could hopefully lead to a free nation.

Uh, no you don't. There are nukes at stake.

It will get worse before it gets better.

I'm streaming CCTV at the moment and awaiting their noon news bulletin.

CCTV's English news channel is the only one covering it right now. Are you following Weibo?

I'm streaming CCTV 13, and it's been reporting mostly nonsense, happy news interspersed with news of North Korea. It says that KCNA and that news lady claim that Kim Jong Il died on a train, and ask all North Koreans to unite behind Kim Jong Un.

North Korea claims Kim Jong Il died at 8:40 AM on Saturday on a train while on his way to an inspection.

A CCTV reporter in Pyongyang says a 200 person funeral planning committee with Kim Jong Un as its head has been set up. The funeral will be on the 28 and 29. Apparently people are sad and weeping on the streets of Pyongyang but we of course don't know the truth.

Kim Jong Un is only 29, and won't have the authority to be the absolute ruler on the style of daddy or grand daddy. This leads to the logical conclusion that he will be glorified just like daddy and grand daddy while in fact being a puppet of higher powers. Jong Un can't serve as the glue like daddy and grand daddy did, and this could set the stage for civil war and foreign intervention.

Does anyone else find it bizarre and funny that Cuba has declared three days of mourning and flying the flag at half mast?
