Three top candidates all died off in 2011. After bin Laden went away I thought Gaddafi and Kim Jong-Il were both logical candidates, but now both are also gone.

Joseph Kony is a serious contender.

This question can't really be answered since one must always take into account the possibility of truly, truly intolerably awful human beings who simply aren't figures of international stature.

Among those who are, Kony has got to be pretty high up there.

It's hard to find the single worst person in the world, because at some point it becomes impossible to make a hierarchy in the atrocities committed.

Robert Mugabe would make an excellent candidate -perhaps even the frontrunner.

Possibly Mladic or Karadizic

Perhaps it should be amended to someone still in a position where they are dangerous. Alois Brunner might still be alive after all.

Bashar, Mahmoud, Omar Al-Bashir, Hu Jintao, Mladic, Karadzic, most African rulers, most Central Asian rulers, Al-Qaeda & friends, SCAF, Putin and Tim Hudak.

(sorry Steve, you haven't pissed me off enough to make this list)

And the answers too, i.e. "Those guys who run [Dictatorship X]".

If I had to choose, no question it would be Teodoro Obiang.

'Individuals' aren't 'bad', societies are bad; systems are bad.

Under capitalism a whole class of people at the top exist as cannibals upon the rest, and a sizeable number in the middle work entirely at the task of brutalizing the lower majority.
