For those unaware, the Stop Online Piracy Act is a bill being hurried through Congress with bipartisan support.  The bill would give accusers the ability to shut down entire websites on which "illegal" content is found.  Taken to its logical conclusion, Youtube and social media sites like Facebook and Twitter would be shut down.  In reality, this would create an environment of intense self-censorship by media giants.  You can learn more here.

So, would this affect your vote?  And if so, how?

If he signs it, it may be a good reason to vote for him.

Yes.

All the adolescent boys up in arms about this need to grow up. There is no inherent right to piracy. Anther person's intellectual property does not belong to you.

It is Youtube and Facebook's responsibility to ensure they are not hosting illegal content.
Anybody know how to do the eye-roll emotican?  Because that's all this post deserves.

At Oaky, you're a big boy.  You can filter bias.

"There is no right to piracy" =/= "Let's give the government the right to shut down websites they don't like."

Pretty sure they can already do that...
Not legally.

This bill gives them the authority to selectively down sites that they find threatening, while leaving up sites that openly support them.
