The DFL caucus will be pretty boring since there won't be any competitive races for endorsements on or a meaningful vote, it'll just be people proposing boring planks and voting on pointless resolutions. However simply attending a Minneapolis DFL caucus guarantees you delegate status if you want it, and the Senate convention could be more interesting even if it'll be nothing but said voting and electing delegates to state. I've done it the past two elections.

On the other hand the GOP convention votes on something meaningful and I think I could have fun seeing if my forum persona would fit in well, because honestly it would. I could show up high after a few drinks and easily fit in a textbook Ron Paul supporter (Paul will win my caucus too, he did in 2008), and obviously the Jesus loving stuff would also fit. But I also don't want it ever on file that I ever attended a Republican caucus.

I got plenty of time to think about it...

Republican, that's what I plan on doing. You should definitely be a rabid Paulite for it.

The Democratic Party is really boring, as far as political parties go. The GOP is where the pizazz is at.

Your participation at the DFL caucus will be far more meaningful.

YES! I should wear a band shirt and propose a resolution that the Minnesota GOP add a plank supporting a FTA between the US and Thailand.

BTW both resolutions I proposed at previous caucus involved alcohol.

And until three days ago, it was where the pizzas were at too.

At the end I should be like "Oh by the way I was just trolling, I'm really a liberal Democrat...but everything else I said was true. I really do love alcohol, pot and Jesus as much as I said."

You should propose a resolution in favor of legalizing prostitution and incorporate opebo and Jesus into your speech in support of the resolution. You'll probably get the Ron Paul voters support at least.

go to the (R) and try to bring along a few buddies who are in on the gag so you can feed off of each other and take more risks.

You can start "Draft opebo" movement here. That would be a great practical joke.

Vote in the MN Republican caucus.

And vote for any candidate that you want that is not Romney.

Preferably not Gingrich either. Paul or Bachmann would be good ways to go.

If I were in your shoes, I'd still choose democrats. I don't see the point of taking part to the caucus of a party I relentlessly fight against.

I'm already thinking of what band shirt I should wear if I go to the Republican one. Which of these do you think would be better?

I'm already feeling even more jealous of you lucky people who can drive & vote. Stupid GDL & stupid voting age preventing me from experiencing election inspired fun. Sad

Obviously you wouldn't be eligible to participate in a caucus at your age, but driving is a non-issue here. Caucuses and voting precincts are always in walking distance. That's just Minneapolis though, out in the suburbs and rurals it's no doubt different.

Wear the 2nd one, but support Bachmann (if she's still in the race).

I don't think I could do a Bachmann-supporting persona well.

I've decided that if I do this, I need to find a way to work the phrase "RON MOTHERF**KING PAUL" in sometime.
