Santorum's lead has stretched to 19 votes on CNN. Amazing.

Its not surprising Paul dropped... Like I said earlier, die hard supporters are more likely to do polls.

Aren't Romney and Santorum going to receive the same number of delegates anyways since they are tied in the results? I would consider both of them to be the winners then.
The winner gets a certain number of delegates then it is split.
The delegates aren't chosen until a convention months from now. There's no mandate that the final delegate selection has anything to do with the caucus results.
I'll be making a completely unscientific prediction as to the delegate outcome later in the night, but it won't account for candidates dropping out in the meantime / tactical voting / whatever wrangling happens at the county and state conventions.

No results in from Jefferson County yet---that's usually a hoot, John Hagelin and all.
I'd imagine a huge Paul result, but you never know.

Rick should become an old fashioned Calvinist. They love him!
Here is a county map of Iowa, which is helpful to me at least. Those who know geographic patterns, if any, can see where the counties out are located. Rick is leading in Woodbury by about 7 points, with quite a bit out, but other bits and pieces are out, or were, such as about 10 precincts in the county my mother grew up in, Scott, where Romney is leading by about an equal margin. Hopefully the precincts out there are all in Bettendorf!
That is the bourgeoise burb of the quad cities area. If you have money, you live in Bettendorf these days (due to the school situation in part, which so often drives these little class divides). Next to no middle class kid goes to the public schools in Davenport more central Davenport that my mother went to.

There's one thing for sure, nobody will get a decisive victory out of Iowa.

FWIW, Paul won 85 of Polk County's 181 reporting precincts. Romney was next with 50. But among precincts with more than 100 votes, Romney won 41 to Paul's 20. As I pointed out to Torie before, Romney won where the votes were.

They're stalling on those last 10 in Dubuque. If those go good for Romney, that could put him over the top.

LOL, the Iowa Republican party are total Romney shills. See this. Romney is the bestest because he won some precinct twice.

Well, since my final prediction was TOTALLY wrong, I make a new one. Romney wins, which, with my luck, means Santorum wins. Paul still gets a momentum boost, not as much though

Even if Romney eeks out Santorum it looks like he will come short on his 2008 showing of 25.2% and 30k votes. Paul more than doubled his suuprt but Romney spent millions to stay the same (or actually drop)
