Just saw it on the TV.  "Reliable sources" from the Perry orbit tell them that Perry's not dropping out.  He'll just skip NH and go to SC.

He majored in forgetting stuff.  Like what he said last night.

Excellent. After Bachmann has dropped out, I was a bit less confident.

I kind of had this feeling that he wasn't going to give up that easy.  I hope he does go to South Carolina and I hope he does well, even though I still want Romney to win.  I have a fondness for the Texas Governor.  I don't want him to win the nomination, and I would still probably vote for President Obama if he were to pull a rabbit out of his hat, but he's a fine gentleman.

I wrote earlier today that his supposed withdrawal was premature and that given the volatility of the race, he could still feasibly become the "anti-Romney". I stand by what I wrote. However, the way he's gone about it is not good. He's given people the impression that he was quitting and that might be enough to effectively end his campaign. However, I don't know if it's been widely reported that he was quitting or not, so I can't say how big the negative effect will be.

Hopefully he follows the Newt route and stays in the campaign only to run millions of dollars of negative ads against Mitt Romney.

Perry might in fact be doing Romney a huge favor- by playing the Fred to Romney's McCain in SC. Smiley

agreed. As long as Santorum/Perry/Gingrich split the conservative vote, Romney wins (with Paul picking up the libertarians).

I suspect that before SC (and certainly before FL) that there will be a lot of pressure for 2 of that group to drop out.
