Over the past couple months I have read many of these and I am very very impressed! You all have such talent- I want to give it a try...

Do you have any tips on how to write a good one?

I am considerin the following storylines-
Reagn/Ford 80
Perot wins in 92
McCain wins in 2000

Thoughts???

Personally, I'd love to see McCain elected in 2000.

Clarence! You're joining this board! Smiley All 3 seem like good ideas, though Perot has been done before.

There are different types of story telling'round these parts. There's "textbook" which is basically " in the first term of president __________, he did yadda yadda yadda & really wanted to do blah blah blah, etc." There's date-by-date, which is basically

"February 8th, 2006: President Bush visits Prime Minister Blair. They discuss the situation in Iraq.

February 9th, 2006: President Bush returns from his visit to the UK, etc."

Then there's a third format where it refers to books written in the alternate universe such as Bob Woodward's "McCain at War" which discusses the initial steps of the invasion of Afghanistan.

Perot and McCain are good ideas, but they're had been used already. I recommend you a Reagan/Ford.
