ever since we took the white out of the white house and made history with the election of obama, are you reluctant to hand the keys over to another boring old white guy, who will probably just wreck the country anyway?

granted, obama has been a very mediocre president.

That sounds borderline racist, IMO. Caring about the color of a person's skin when it comes to anything is absolutely ridiculous. The fact that we wouldn't even be having this conversation were Obama fully white is pretty telling. Race has no bearing on whether or not a man or a woman is doing a good job as President or whether or not they'd be a bad President, etc. It's all in the substance of what they're saying and what they're actually doing.

Read just like a PC textbook.

Of course Obama's race has much to do with his ability to perform his duties as president.  His entire life is affected by his race.

Of course his race doesn't make him any stupider or smarter than anyone else... but to deny that race doesn't impact a person greatly... most especially a politician... most especially a politician elected president... is naive.

Explain why one's race would effect the last two in particular, if you don't mind.

If you have any cultural awareness, I think you can figure this out for yourself.  Race matters in the US, especially in politics.  Nearly everything Obama does or doesn't do is judged against the backdrop of his racial background.  History will never see him as the 44th president of the United States, but as black president número uno.

No. In fact, I would like to go back to having a President I can freely criticize without being accused of being a closet racist.

No. Race, gender, etc... have no role  in any shape or form in deciding who I will support for president.

Ok, but I read your post as saying that Obama's race affects his decision making.  As if you think his mixed heritage is the reason behind his mediocrity*

*or however you view his term thus far

Joe Republic called Bush "the last White President" somewhere during his last few days in office, and while he was talking in jest, I would be very disappointed if the statement did not turn out to be true. Tongue
