I'm being silly.  I know that West Virginians are probably not a bunch of cannibalistic mutants.

The suburbs of Birmingham, while less remote, are far more reactionary in far more unpleasant ways than at least most of West Virginia, or for that matter anywhere else in the country with which I am familiar.

I don't think the Birmingham suburbs are populated by cannibalistic mutants though.
