Not exactly a big name defection but it's a sign of Mitt's troubles in the state and with the other 75% of the party that doesn't like him (except this guy was actually once on board with Romney).

According to PPP, only 29% don't like Romney in South Carolina. He has stronger ratings in the state than everyone but Santorum.

So?

The fact is, you're statement that 75% of the party doesn't like him is incorrect. In fact, it's closer to the opposite.

It wouldn't be the first time an Edwards from the Carolinas dumped someone for the allure of Santorum.

No, what the real fact is that that idiot from Massachusetts is more shallow and fake than Claire Zachanassian.

...in one early primary state. Nationally, 75% of this party dislikes and distrusts him whether you like it or not.

Santorum isn't either, especially if he finishes behind Gingrich in NH. He may come close simply because he is the most viable conservative left in the race, but unless something big breaks on Romney between now and then, no one is beating him here. Santorum must finish third tonight If he is to have any shot at all.

You have absolutely no backing of that. It doesn't even add up how 75% dislikes and distrusts him, yet 30% have him as their top choice for President.

Barry Wynn was/is a member of Perry's fundraising team. All are considered "Demint Advisers."

Maybe Mitt's not in as much trouble yet here as some assumed.

He rarely breaks 25% in national polling. A candidate that ran before and the "inevitable" nominee should poll higher than that.

So because he's only getting 25% (its higher now), that must mean the other 75% hates him? Interesting viewpoint. You still have no backing that 75% of the party "dislikes and distrusts him". 75% of the party may not pick him as their first preference, but that doesn't mean they dislike him.

DeMint with some encouraging words for mitt today as well. As I said, he won't be endorsing Gingrich or Santorum.

Santorum has been falling in South Carolina.  Sorry Phil, but an obscure endorsement won't help him win the state.

Governor who? Never heard of him.

But yeah...really hard for me to say, but I doubt Santorum has a chance at this point. It's all over. Romney's the nominee.
