If that's the middle class, then what is the working class?

Republican leaders must swiftly condemn that dangerous rhetoric that amounts to class warfare!

Indeed.  Or else Carl Rove will have to snipe him from a tall building, and let Newt take the nomination.

It has always been Mittens' position that the tax cuts should be focused on the middle class (with which I happen to disagree because taxes on the middle class need to go up rather than down (although maybe not quite yet), if they want the size of the entitlement state (e.g., no medicare cuts, which shows just how truly clueless they are, in large part because politicians of both parties have been lying to them) that they seem to want), and his tax plan is designed this way. Indeed he has said this more than once during the debates as well. So this is neither a flip, nor a flop, but steady as she goes.

When are you boys going to start shooting something other than blanks? Surely you can do better than this! I don't mean to be too hard on you however, because that is what Mittens' opponents have been largely shooting as well, and when it is real bullets, they seem to have been pointing the gun barrel towards themselves, rather than Mitt, at the time they pull the trigger. So it is not as if you have any good role models out there.  Smiley

At least he finally realized the poor aren't "taken care of."  Not sure why he didn't figure that out before. I was just thinking today about how there's no one on the GOP side talking directly about poverty like we've had in the past with Kemp, Huckabee or even W.

Sure there is.  Ron Paul.

Anyway, get over it.  We take shots at Mitt because it's fun.  Like you, I have said for six months that he'll be the nominee.  No argument there.  And like you, when he runs against Obama I'll vote for him.  But since he's on top, we might as well have fun with it.  To his credit, he has been hedging his positions pretty well so far, but if you think this intraparty attack is heat, wait till the Obamatards start kicking him around in earnest.  The real fun begins after the Republican National Convention.

Dear Mitt,

The "vast middle class" is not so vast anymore, in no small part thanks to policies that you and your party (and to be fair, many Democrats) have endorsed.

Sincerely,
Some dude on an internet forum

Go ahead and round that up to 99%, Mitt.
