I spoke with constituents about what I saw as an ignorance of the duties of the SoIA position outside of your own legislation during the hearing. Sadly, your post and activity in office seem to confirm that suspicion.
Is this your reason for this bill? I am just wondering because while I am almost totally against it, I want to here your reasons for the bill so I can see if there is something I am missing.

If this passes, I will resign, just so y'all know. Not a threat, but I won't serve in a position that has been rendered powerless.

I intend to vote against this bill since I can think of no reason why it should be passed and it seems strange to thrust more work at the GM while eliminating SoIA and SoEA.

Napoleon, you have not offered a real defense of this bill. All you've done thus far is attack the SoIA, despite his short tenure and the fact it has coincided with the holiday season. And you have said nothing about the SoEA. I'd like to see some justification here.

Then I suppose I'm duty-bound.
This bill has been open for three days, and with the sponsor being too afraid to show his face, debate has been absent.
I hereby open a final vote on this bill. Please vote Aye, Nay, or Abstain.

This is classic Marokai.
I was absent from this thread because I didn't want to "debate" you. You didn't debate this bill. You didn't approach this attempt at game reform with a "how can this process be improved?", you approached it with "attack Napoleon viciously (for some reason you still expected me to deem a response to that worthy of my time), proceeding to use your PPT powers as a way of taunting Napoleon" approach instead.
This bill wasn't written as a final version. I introduced it on a whim for three reasons:
1. The Soea went a whole month without doing anything, including this act's duties. Nobody seemed to care.
2. I got the impression from Tmthforu's confirmation that he either didn't know about or didn't care about the duties outside of his own legislation. He continues to assert that the office is entirely irrelevant without this act while ignoring most of his official duties.
3. Right before I introduced this bill, which should have been a collaborative process, GM shua mentioned he was confused regarding how this works and it seemed to be resulting in less progress. At that point, I knew we needed to discuss reform in this subject. We needed to have a conversation, one that didn't involve the SoIA trying to disrupt the debate by waving the partisan flag.
Unfortunately, Marokai's tone, combative right off the bat, coupled with my own lack of time to come up with a comprehensive solution by myself, I decided to ignore that "debate" that nothing good could have came of.
At least we heard the GM's perspective. Maybe people listened.

March 2nd...that day will be an early Birthday present for me.
Special thanks to the Senate for rejecting this partisan, anti-Tmth/Ben POS.
I'm not too big on getting a lesson on activity from someone who doesn't even bother to show up to defend a bill, simply because he doesn't like the many people who are opposed to this and see it for what it is.
If your goal was to make different amendments, you should have said that from the start. Both Shua and I, as well as Ben, are more than open to changes. We just don't want an all out repeal, which is what you suggested.

I agree with Shua, not necessarily on all the specifics, but that changes need to be made. I've said plenty times before that this bill isn't perfect...

So how is this bill anti-Tmth?
From the original version, it just looks like an attempt by you to strip powers from myself and Ben, two people you don't like at all and have made obvious. If you're real interest is making amendments, rather than all out repeal (Even though you've supported an all-out repeal plenty of times in the past) I would be more than willing on comfortably working with you, Shua, Ben, and anyone else who would want to be involved in coming up with solutions. No one really knew, though, that your intent was to just amend the GM Reform Act, because you never bothered to show up to debate.
I'm going to leave it to Ben for his time absent, but as for me, I think it's ridiculous you're attacking me on activity one month in, two of those weeks being during the Holidays, especially considering that I have done a decent amount of work, and more is on the way.
I'm also hoping for an answer on why you believe I'm against any changes, unlike Shua, when I clearly stated earlier that I was open to amendments.

Im not calling you inactive, I'm saying you seem to just ignore some job duties.
The PPT set the tone for the "debate" in his first post. What's a Senator to do?

You never brought any concerns you had with my performance up, which is what I'd hope you would do as a Senator and future Governor. Instead, a bill of yours is introduced that strips just about all of my powers. Communication would be better in the future.
You could have simply stated that your intent wasn't for an all-out repeal, and that you wanted to make amendments to the GM Reform Act. I can't speak for others, but I would have been more than willing to come up with potential solutions with you.
I would continue arguing with you on this, but I don't want to, so I won't. Someone else is going to have to take over.
Or, we could just drop this and start coming up with solutions to solve this problem in Atlasia.

More than willing to find solutions? You're contribution this debate involved a suggestion that I introduced it because it was signed by you. You aren't fooling anyone here.
