Is it fiscally responsible for someone who is unemployed to be giving away hand-outs?

1) Probably the first time he expressed altruism in his entire life, really.

2) Probably wasn't even altruism.  Rather, he was just trying to look good.

Reagan mailed some checks in similar circumstances when he was POTUS. Not the first time a Republican does it.

Yeah, there was a story about Obama doing the same. I mean, if you're a wealthy like those three are/were, what's the harm?

Yeah I think he's just trying to look good.

Well, yeah, he's a politician.

That said, I hope the Gingrich will demolish Romney over these socialist handouts to lazy bums.

Romney is free to choose what to do with his own cash. A lot of people are suffering because of the Great Recession. Hopefully we'll get stronger economic growth once Romney becomes president and restores confidence in the markets, so that people like this poor woman can find a job and no longer be desperate for help.

No it's not. If you look at his personal background he has been highly involved with LDS charitable activities and helping families with relationship problems. This cold and heartless characterization  bullsh*t directed towards Romney needs to go. Just because he's wealthy doesn't mean he doesn't care about other people.

Yeah, the European-style class warfare on here is a bit sickening, huh? If I had to guess, I would say most of them are either young, or envious pricks who have made nothing of their own life.

So a prominent public figure who also happens to be in serious contention to become President, out of pure compassion and from the goodness of his heart, helps out a fellow human being down on their luck and this makes him a scumbag according to the ranting raving hacks who hate Romney so much they would rather see this poor woman go without anything rather than receive help from Romney.

Your obvious non compassion for the human race knows no bounds.  It would be justice for each of you to experience what this unfortunate woman is experiencing at this time in her life, and let's see you turn down help that someone gives you in good faith.  Your inconsiderate comments are contemptible.

You are free of course to continue your support for Obama whose inaction and incompetence has led this woman, and millions like her, to the condition that she now finds herself in.

Interestingly enough (?) if this were Britain then Rhymney would have been arrested for doing that (at least in theory) as 'treating' voters is illegal.

"Wad of cash" is, obviously, the very biased term used by the very biased author of this very biased thread.  Despicable behavior.
