What it says; who would win in 2000?  Would Florida be less controvercial?  And would the GOP do better in Congressional races?  Post maps and discuss.

Also, would he have acted on the August memo?  What would that mean for neoconservatism?  Iraq?  Discuss Tongue

Connie Mack would be less controversial as nominee than Bush, although he would lack Christian Right machine at Iowa and other states...

Bush didn't carry Iowa anyway, so it wouldn't matter that much.

How about Iraq?  Maybe John Engler for regional balance?

And note the question is not "who would you vote for" its "who would win"; to the four of you who thought the likable Connie Mack, who wouldn't choose a raging neocon, say this guy:

as his running mate, wouldn't do better than this guy:

in an election, no offense, but I don't think you know American politics.  Although I must say I like that pic.  I'll use it as my sig, not that anyone cares Wink

Neither man is exactly charismatic in the scenario but I think Gore would have ran a better campaign and could have possibly used Clinton's help more.  Gore would have won anyway in the scenario, the Congressional races would be a little better for the Republicans.

IMO, this is reasonable:

Connie Mack III / John Engler vs. Al Gore / Joe Lieberman:

* I honestly don't think he'd change his strategy much, albeit maybe using Clinton a bit more out of desparation.  But it shouldn't have been a huge difference to his strategy, ex. Anti-Lewinski gate, etc.
