I'm tired of having the donkey represent the Democratic Party! No one wants to be called an ass. I think Democrats should change their animal symbol.

I honestly think it should be the dolphin instead.

1. Dolphins work in groups and are not individualistic. (Welfare state instead of free market)
2. Dolphins are known to have sex outside of reproduction (socially liberal instead of conservative)
3. Dolphins communicate to each other (diplomacy vs. sudden rush to war)

Yes I know those are generalizations.

No, because dolphins are smart and cute, unlike Democrats.

But they are barbarians who rape, pillage, and kill baby porpoises for sport, so they'd make good Republican logos, except for the whole thing about being smart and cute, which Republicans are not.

I think I would strongly prefer the Orca Whale as a symbol instead -even if it means we would be forever known as the 'Free Willy Party'.  Anything is better than that damned ass we have now:

Orcas have many of the same characteristics that you have underlined for dolphins -and though I do not know too much about their sexual habits, I don't think they are overly different in that regard either.

I'd prefer some kind of mythical beast - a kraken would be a potent political symbol.

Or Cthulhu.

Donkeys can be cute too:

Especially when you compare it to the other side's mascot:

How about a polyp?  It just kind of hangs around and lets the ocean bring food to it. Tongue

Seriously, though, the donkey is a bad symbol.  I don't know what to replace it with, though.

If you have AdBlock or something you can just block it. That's what I do with that (and all big signatures).

Or Cthulhu.

Some sort of octupus-like creature would actually be most fitting considering how spineless the party in general is.

That is also an excellent suggestion worth serious consideration:

Wolves are absolutely beautiful animals.

I wonder if the Republicans mightn't also change to something that actually lives in the United States.

I wouldn't use any type of animal with a flipper - that's an invitation to jokes about flip-flopping on issues.  But I like the status quo for both parties' symobls, so I say keep it.

I'd like a rhinoceros! It's sort of like an elephant except cool. Also it would make calling someone a "RINO" even more insulting! Smiley
