Apparently this news was broken by a friend of his via Twitter by the name of Oscar Smith who was present when the ordeal occurred. https://twitter.com/#!/OscarSmith62

The guy had three heart attacks, likely (in my opinion, anyway) relating to cocaine overdose. Nevertheless, I suppose he'll be missed. Started out as an okay actor, ended up as shear fodder for late-night variety show monologues. Oh well. RIP.

My Facebook feed is filled with "R.I.P. Charlie Sheen" posts, I'm getting random phone calls from friends about it, etc., etc. The story doesn't seem so unbelievable, especially if the guy was snorting two eight-balls a day toward the end. I think I believe it.

This is the biggest indicator it's a hoax - if a celebrity like Charlie Sheen had even been rushed to the hospital, they would know and would have posted something.

Also, if you actually look at the twitter feed, only seven tweets have been sent out by this person - every single one of them about this supposed incident. I don't think anyone who was actually someone's friend would create a twitter account for the express purpose of advertising their friend's health issues.

Also, given the mere five people following this person, I find it likely that the author of this thread is the creator of that account.
