Romney's campaign for governor in Mass would be over if he did not treat that question with contempt. Bush was poison in Mass. So, unusual for Mittens, he engaged in theatrics to emphasize the point.

Is it just me or was he channelling George Bush while putting him down?  The awkward gasping laugh was pure Bush.

Are you suggesting that he wasn't wearing his magical underwear?

Newt's PAC's got a $5 million ad buy ... they can't include this, somewhere, somehow?

Clearly not.  I've seen much more awkward people.  Do you really need to put down every candidate other than Santorum?

...uh. I'm known for disliking Romney and Paul. I have for years. This and anything else I post has nothing to do with the candidates not being Santorum. I know it's convenient to say I only do this because the others aren't Santorum. I know you'll get a lot of people to agree. Unfortunately for you, that isn't the case. At all.

Do we need to bump my threads praising Christie and begging him to run (even though, out of loyalty, I'd still vote for Rick)? How about my thread about asking if it's time to turn to Newt? Remember when Rick Perry was my second choice? Don't let these little facts get in your way of pushing your myth though.

But really... the "most awkward man alive"?  It was an awkward moment, and you can make a thread laughing at it, but that's a little much, don't you think?

Was he putting Bush down there, or simply saying he had no interest in the VP position?

A little hyperbole, Inks. Calm down. But Mitt has had plenty of very awkward moments.

Heck, Bush is poison with most Republican primary voters in general right now.

hahaha.  That was pretty awkward.  Overly dramatic, at least.  It's the sort of footage that he probably wished wouldn't surface much before the IA and NH primaries, and I have to say that I hadn't seen it till today, so I guess he got his wish.

Yeah, that type of subtle humor apparently flies over the head of the Santorumites. Clearly the laugh was a friendly mocking of Bush while simultaneously indicating he would not accept the VP slot in 2004.

Romney: "You must have the wrong number... heh..."

Bush: "This isn't Mitt Romney?"

Romney: "No, no, it's, it's me."

Bush: "..."

I don't see what's wrong with this - It'd be foolish for any candidate running for Governor to leave open the possibility of running for VP 2 years later. People want someone who they think will be able to stick it out all 4 years, not quit midway through for greener pastures (See Sarah Palin).
